This is a collective struggle to get the world online, so Google and Fidelity have decided to invest $1 billion in SpaceX, giving them just under 10% of the company.

Opinion: We are not sure what this investment will bring, directly, but Google is now an important partner in this effort. After all, the Search Giant just wants to get everyone online, right? That’s how they make money.

Fast-forward nearly a month later and now the movie has made massive amounts of cash. All of us have seen it and a lot of you will get the chance to see it without paying any extra money, soon. Netflix has decided to start streaming the film starting January 24th, which is this weekend!

Opinion: Now, this is where the movie really booms. Netflix is in millions of homes, and at no extra cost there is no reason for people not to watch it. Talk about going global.

Infobar A03 is a Japan-only designer smartphone

The Japanese carrier au by KDDI launched Infobar A03 - a smartphone created by the prominent industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa. The Kyocera-made handset with aluminum body will be available to order in four different colors - Pool, Mocha Brown, Sakura Iro, and Nishikigoi.

Infobar A03 is not all about looks. The eye-catching body of the handset packs high-end specs, which include Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of expandable memory.

The handset’s display is a 4.5” 1080p unit. A 13MP main camera, 2MP front-facing unit, and full connectivity suite are also on board. Like most Japanese market smartphones, the Infobar A03 offers IPX5/IPX8 rating, thus meaning that it can be submersed in water.

Huawei Honor 6 gets updated interface in Europe

Huawei launched the Honor 6 last year, and it's slowly started selling it in more and more places ever since. The Honor 6 comes with pretty decent specs for this day and age - last year it would have been labeled a flagship undoubtedly. That said, it's also quite affordable considering what you're getting for the money.

And now it's getting a redesigned user interface too. Huawei is apparently in the process of upgrading the Honor 6 to EMUI 3.0. This is the Chinese company's own UI overlay which sits on top of Google's Android, and it's previously been known as Emotion UI.

The Honor 6 launched running Android 4.4.2 KitKat with EMUI 2.3. This update doesn't seem to touch the Android version, so unfortunately if you've been waiting for Lollipop that's not coming (at least not yet). But you do get the newer version of Huawei's EMUI, which comes with a fresh new feel - new design, new icons, the works. Huawei boasts that this is its "most user friendly and seamlessly integrated interface to date".

You'll get continuous home screen scrolling, adjustable app grids, resizeable widgets, context-aware actions, and a magazine unlock feature which uses a magazine cover for your lock screen background. The camera app has been improved in multiple ways too, now coming with the ability to embed watermarks in photos, panorama beautification, instant text translation, and QR code scanning.

The update is on its way to Honor 6 units bought from Europe, though as always it may take a while before it reaches every single device out there.

Once again, I have to thank Gearbest for sending me this. I did not ask them. They contacted me about it and I told them I was a Android guy and not sure this Windows box would float my boat.

Well it actually has!

First this thing is fast for a Windows box! I can use this for many many things.
It's almost like a HARDWARE VM box to mess with windows!
What's cool about it is how fast you can recover or reinstall..... I would never do to my real PC what I have been doing to this box!

Anyway.... Just have to say this more than met any expectations I had... It's just a great box so far.

NO, I actually have not messed with XBMC on it at all... Been learning all tis EUFI, windows install stuff. But trust I have a feeling, if you like KODI/XBMC on your home PC, this will be right there with it.

Too bad I actually hate Windows 8 though.... But I am getting use to it now. I still prefer the power of Windows 7 from a "capable" user point of view.

Xiaomi unveils sensor panels for its smart home ecosystem

The hype from Xiaomi’s new product launch last week hasn’t even died down yet, and Xiaomi co-founder Lin Bin has already showed off more new smart home gadgets at Beijing’s annual GeekPark Innovation Festival over the weekend (h/t 36kr).

These new devices come in the form of sensors placed around the home. The sensors measure things like light, sound, temperature, and movement. They can then send signals to other smart gadgets around the home, like turning on an air conditioner, lights, an air purifier, a security camera, and, of course, pushing data and alerts to smartphones.

New reports claim the Xiaomi Mi 4 is close to being launched in India. Of course, this comes after months of planning, rumors and reports, so it’s natural to feel a bit uneasy about any new information.

If the latest news prove to be true, though, India will see the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 4 come January 28th, which is just under a couple weeks away. Expected prices are said to range between 18,000 and 22,000 Rupees, which is about $290-$350 USD.

Opinion: Let’s hope this launch finally hits India. The Xiaomi Mi 4 is a great device, but the Xiaomi Mi Note is looking like an awesome deal. I just have to wonder when that one will reach India.

The Consumer Electronic Show is always an avenue for Lenovo to pull its stunts and this year is no different. The company has announced two new Droid smartphones, a selfie flash accessory and a good looking smartband.

Lenovo P90

The Lenovo P90 features a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS LCD display and has Intel Atom Z3560 chipset with 1.83 Quad-core CPU under the hood with 2GB of RAM and 32GB space of internal storage. There is a rear facing 13MP Autofocus camera with LED flash, a front facing 5MP camera, Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS and a very capable 4000mAh battery.
